ACT Scoring

Scoring for the ACT is fairly simple in comparison to some of the other standardized tests. Each section of the ACT is scored on a 1 to 36 point scale. Your composite ACT score is the average of each of the four section scores. If you take the Writing Test, you’ll receive a separate writing score for that section. The highest score that a student can receive is 36 and the average ACT score is 21.

    LAS Crash Courses

    Our ACT Crash Course is perfect for students who are looking for a quick refresher before taking the ACT. The ACT Crash Course is a group-based workshop that occurs before major ACT dates and is segmented into two 2-hour meetings. Optional one-on-one meetings with instructors can be scheduled to provide individual support if desired. The LAS Crash Course includes:

    • A one-day introduction to the ACT
    • Content to expect on each subsection
    • Process and strategies
    • Practice problems with error analysis
    • Goal setting
    • Score tracking
    • Homework planning

    LAS Hybrid Workshops

    The ACT Hybrid Workshop is an eight-week comprehensive ACT course that includes a weekly two-hour group workshop and a one-on-one weekly meeting with your ACT instructor, scheduled at your convenience. This workshop combines the best of both worlds: collaboration with peers in a small group environment, and individualized instruction that integrates your learning style. The Hybrid Workshop includes:

    • Initial meeting to determine best plan, set goals, and personalized study strategies
    • Pre and post-testing with ongoing progress tracking
    • Weekly targeted and summative practice questions
    • Integrated standardized test preparation with executive functioning support
    • Ongoing error analysis for a fully adaptive curriculum

    Interested in One-to-One Meetings?

    If you’re looking for more individualized support, we offer One-to-One Meetings for ACT test prep as well. Students who choose our One-to-One Meetings will work with a dedicated instructor and each session will focus on the student’s specific needs. We’ll design a personalized curriculum for each student that includes key elements from the Hybrid Workshop:

    • Initial meeting to determine best plan, set goals, and personalized study strategies
    • Pre and post-testing with ongoing progress tracking
    • Weekly targeted and summative practice questions
    • Integrated standardized test preparation with executive functioning support
